Building Virtual Worlds (BVW)
​

Building Virtual Worlds' main purpose is to develop prototypes in a short period of time (normally between one or two weeks). All virtual worlds are done by a team of four members: 3D designer, texture artist, sound designer and programmer.

The Guest Helps a Character who is afraid of Another |01

An ETC project were the guest must help Character A to achieve a goal. while having Character B blocking its way; the project is about a guardian angel, whose main purpose is to protect a baby that is in danger

  • Responsible for creating 3D characters and its respective animations.

  •  Created intro and ending animations (graphic design)

  •  Performed live as a guardian angel in front of an audience, during the final presentation

The Feeling of Freedom/Naive Guest |02

The main purpose of this project is to create a consistent, highly interactive, and engaging experience that lets naive guests feel that they have a lot of freedom in the choices they make; the story it is about a treasure hunter, who had a plane accident and crashed in the middle of the desert. In order to survive, he must go to a village, while he tries to collect his lost artifacts

Visual Stoty is a filmmaking class for non- fimmakers. Students are taught how to tell a story through footage and images.

The assignment was to develop a gameplay experience (using Leap Motion) for children, in order to teach them about the importance of saving and managing energy. 

 

The hero of this story is MAX - the official mascot of the electricity museum of Madeira Island. Max witnessed a major blackout at Madeira due to the reckless energy consumption of the population. Therefore, in order to safe Madeira, he is willing to travel to a parallel universe and "capture" more energy for the Island. 

 

Will he able to complete his mission and safe Madeira? 

 

In this project I was responsable for:

 

  • Designing the levels for the game (Concept art and 3D modelling)

  • Graphic design and animation of the videos.

The assignment was to develop an educational web experience that teaches tourists and locals about safety and precaution measures before and during a Levada walk in Madeira Island. 

 

The story is about a Tourist who is visiting Madeira Island, in order to participate in a Levada Walk. In each scenario of the web-experience, the user must interact with it and identify potential dangerous situations.

In this assignment, the group had to assume the role of a game studio and develop a set of two games based on one transmidia world.

 

The group's named itself as INNO7. I was the Creative Director of the group. We developed two games: Neuron - Expand Your Brain and Neuron - Synapse. 

 

Neuron - Expand Your Brain was developed for the Microsoft Kinect, while Neuron - Synapse was a traditional board game. 

 

 

The objective in Neuron - Expand Your Brain is to connect all neurons inside a brain using the right sequence of proteins. 

 

Neuron - Synapse is a strategy game where the player has to build his own neural connections,while tryning to block other players from doing their own connections.

​In Kinetic Typography, students learned how to tell stotyies through video animaton. In this class, I participated not only as a student, but also as a TA suporting my class mates whenever they needed my assistence.

I developed a  story about the Mayfly cicle, where I explain the same to the audience using a sheet of paper and sketches.

In this assignment we have to model a museum and an artefact. In the end, we had to do an animation which includes both artefact and museum.
